Programmable logic controllers (PLC) are stand-alone electronic devices for the control of plant and machinery. They operate independent of a PC. The instructions to control and rule are stored in a program (STEP 7). IP-Symcon serves the visualization and human-machine interface (HMI), which is the interface between the operator and the machine.
At present the following SPS are operated with the programming language STEP 7 in IP-Symcon:
The Siemens S7 / Vipa SPEED7 module in IP-Symcon is using the LIBNODAVE library.
Please read for further informationen: http://libnodave.sourceforge.net/
The connection is via LAN, Profibus or MPI.
The following MPI adapters are tested:
By the fact that PHP offers 5.3.x Integer as largest integer, the DWORDs (unsigend ints) can be read in IP-Symcon, but are mapped to an integer, which means, that only the lower 31Bit can be evaluated.
