3.4->4.x upgrade - FHZ 1300 PC - instructions

Hi,

are there any instructions for 3.4 -> 4.x upgrade ideally in English regarding the FHZ 1300 PC?
OS: WHS (Windows)

I tried the upgrade (just running automatic one) and the IO/Splitter instances stopped working.
As far as I understand the german text on symcon.de page, it only says something is needed, but not what.

Also, is anybody using FHZ 1300 under Linux?

Thnks…

At the end google translate was good enough to get info from German text.
It was necessary to install driver which was not needed with Symcon 3.4
So migration 3.4 -> 4.3 worked fine.

The only remaining question is Win -> Linux.
I found general migration instructions and they appear easy.
But not much info about FHZ 1300 & Linux…

FHZ1300PC is super easy on linux, as all drivers are available out of the box. :slight_smile:

paresy

It does not work for me.
But it could be related to virtualization, not the FHZ1300PC itself.

I tried to install IP Symcon in LXC container (Proxmox, Ubuntu container).
I identified that FHZ1300 probably mounts as /dev/ttyUSB0 on host.
So I attempted to pass the ttyUSB0 to the container.
It appears there in devices but I get „operation not permitted“ from IP Symcon when selecting the ttyUSB0 port.

I had to give up for now. House was 3 hours without control, I need it to recover now :smiley:

Got the beast working.

In case somebody will attempt the same thing (and will be beginner as me):

Proxmox virtualization, IP Symcon installed in LXC container

Configuration on proxmox host, in container conf file:

lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 188:* rwm
lxc.mount.entry: /dev/ttyUSB0 dev/ttyUSB0 none bind,optional,create=file

That „188“ can differ, it can be found using command

ls -al /dev/ttyUSB0
