OpenHomeAlarm
Burkhard Kneiseler
OpenHomeAlarm is a manufacturer-independent alarm and security control system for Symcon 9.x. Existing Symcon variables can be used as freely configurable sensors, 24/7 triggers, tamper inputs, and fault inputs.
The module supports multiple alarm partitions that can be armed independently or together, Home, Away, and Night modes, normal and silent alarms, and restart-safe entry and exit delays. Sensors can be assigned to multiple partitions, bypassed once, or temporarily released for a single passage.
Additional features include user-specific disarm codes, scheduled automatic arming, alarm memory, configurable alarm and countdown actions, multi-stage alarm escalation, and notifications through Symcon Push and Pushover. Event history and system diagnostics can be viewed and exported as JSON or CSV.
OpenHomeAlarm can be controlled through its public PHP functions, a responsive Symcon tile, or a fully interactive IPSView interface. Versioned configuration backups can be exported, validated, and restored while the entire alarm system is disarmed.
OpenHomeAlarm is an automation solution and not a certified intrusion, fire, or hazard alarm system.

Version History
Independent alarm partitions can be armed and disarmed individually, as a freely selected group, or together through the main partition.
Sensors support multiple partitions, selectable arming modes, specific trigger values or deviations from a defined normal value, one-time bypasses, exit routes, and time-limited passage permissions.
Entry and exit delays are restart-safe. Separate actions can be executed once at the start, during every countdown second, and at the end.
Alarm actions can be selected by normal or silent alarm and by the Home, Away, Night, and 24/7 trigger categories. Signal generators, reset actions, Symcon Push, and direct Pushover notifications are supported.
User-specific disarm codes, logged external disarm sources, an optional action after the complete system has been disarmed, and weekly automatic arming schedules provide additional control options.
The Symcon tile and IPSView use the same control state and provide responsive partition, status, countdown, event, and diagnostic views. The interface has been optimized particularly for mobile displays, iOS WebViews, and large IPSView areas.
The instance configuration form provides multi-selection searches for sensors and fault inputs, clearer validation messages, and more compact and readable configuration lists.
The event log and system diagnostics can be exported as JSON or CSV. The complete module configuration can be saved as a versioned backup, validated, and restored while the alarm system is disarmed.
Errors involving orphaned or duplicate assignments, invalid alarm partitions, action configurations, signal generators, push notifications, downloads, and the restoration of older security snapshots are now handled safely and reported with specific correction instructions.
The documentation covers all public OHA_* functions, configuration steps, security limitations, screenshots, and additional example scripts, including camera pre-alarm scenarios.
