Portainer
Author: Michael Tröger
Module for connecting Portainer to Symcon
Included Modules
- Docker Container
- Docker System
- Portainer Configurator
- Portainer IO
- Portainer Stack
Version History
Important:
- Docker Container, Docker System and Portainer Stack have their own status codes (not configured, not found, request failed). Errors during cyclic polling appear in the log only once when the status changes, calls of PHP commands report every error.
- Error messages from Portainer (e.g. "No such container") are now reported; previously some errors were silently ignored.
- The status variable of the stack is now displayed as a switchable enumeration.
- New translations (e.g. stack "Type", container "Platform") only apply to newly created variables, existing variables are not renamed.
- On 32-bit systems the size of all images is created as float. An existing integer variable is kept and must be deleted if necessary.
New functions and actions:
- Portainer IO: Login with API token as an alternative to username and password.
- Portainer IO: Option "Verify TLS certificate".
- Portainer Stack: Start and stop via the status variable.
New status variables:
- Docker Container: "Exit code", "Killed due to lack of memory", "Health status" (only for containers with healthcheck).
Changed behavior:
- Portainer IO: New status "Host is missing"; status "Interface closed" when the instance is closed. After a connection loss the IO automatically becomes active again. Missing permissions on individual resources (HTTP 403) no longer set the IO to "Unauthorized".
- Docker Container, Docker System, Portainer Stack: Immediate update when the Portainer IO becomes active again; no polling while the IO is inactive. Status variables are updated immediately after actions. Errors when switching status variables are shown in the visualization.
- Docker System, Portainer Stack: New instances poll every 5 seconds by default (previously off).
- Portainer Configurator: Containers are queried live (including stopped ones) instead of from the snapshot, which can be up to 5 minutes old. Kubernetes environments are shown without an instance, errors from Portainer as a hint.
Fixed wrong values in status variables:
- Docker Container: "Started at" and "Created" show "-" for containers that were never started instead of a date in year 1.
- Docker System: The size of all images was shown in the wrong unit at exactly 1 GiB.
Bug fixes:
- Docker Container: The selection "Restarting" in the status variable paused the container instead of restarting it.
- Docker Container: No matching icon was shown in the tile visualization for status "Running".
- Portainer IO: Wrong credentials were not detected. After a rejected login, a new login was attempted on every poll.
- Portainer IO: Passwords, tokens and environment variables of stacks and containers appeared in plain text in the debug output.
- Portainer Configurator: Stacks and environments with the same ID were sorted incorrectly. Error for environments without a snapshot.
