Returns

Build date and the first 12 characters of the revision identifier, separated by ", "; on a development version the revision identifier itself ("Unknown")

Description

The function returns a readable identifier of the installed kernel build. It consists of the build date of the kernel (IPS_GetKernelDate) as a date in the format of the system settings and the first 12 characters of the revision identifier (IPS_GetKernelRevision), separated by ", ".

If no build date is available, as with a self-built development version, the complete revision identifier is returned instead - in this case "Unknown".

The version number is returned by IPS_GetKernelVersion; whether a newer update is available is returned by IPS_GetAvailableUpdates.
